Have you seen the “Succulent Letter Gardens” on Pinterest and Etsy?  From DIY projects to expensive letter boxes already planted up for your convenience, succulents seem to be everywhere. A friend of mine got me hooked when she emailed me some inspiration photos of succulent centerpieces she’s planning to put together for a bridal shower. They will be so lovely and unique.  I knew I just had to try growing one of these fun letters! So, as I always seem to do, I called my Dad to see what he thought about helping me whip up my latest project. Well, actually he built the box.  I just planted the succulents.  The box is made of cedar, which will weather quite nicely.  I am leaving the E  ( for Emily, of course ) flat for a week or so to let the tender little plants take hold. Then, I will prop it up somewhere around the patio/garden area.  Right now it’s near a bed of Vinca.  This ground cover will unveil a bed of tiny lavender flowers that will be so pretty next to the those bigger succulents that have just a tad of purple around the edges. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can keep this living box -living- through the summer!
