Emily and Leo

When you’re usually the only kid at family get-togethers, it’s a really big deal when another little someone shows up. This past weekend we were so happy to get to spend time with little Leo and his mom and dad. Leo is ten-months-old and oh, so cute. Emily just couldn’t keep her hands off of him.  “I really want to be his big sister!” she would say.  Sorry Emily, being Leo’s second cousin will have to do. 😉   And when we took a break from the kiddie pool to grab some photos, she was all too happy to have Leo in her arms.  Take a look at the sweet baby’s yawn… first Leo’s… and then my baby’s!  LOL I think both kids were wayyyy  tired as we did this impromptu photo shoot- there was a lot of eye rubbing and yawning- LOL.

I love these photos of the two of them.  I love Leo’s little belly sticking out from under his swim shirt, I love his long eyelashes, and I love that little furrowed brow he gets.

I love Emily’s golden glow- inside as out.  I love that I’ll look back on these photos and think of all of the fun Phil and I had playing the Tooth Fairy.  We are at a time now where it seems Emily’s losing one baby tooth after another. The thrill of  her finding that two-dollars under her pillow is so magical.  Look at her adorable toothy smile!  And if it was my nail polish chipped like that from too much time in the pool, I’d be horrified!  But on Emily, I love it. I love the bright pink color she will always pick out.  Or blue.  Or pink on one hand, and blue on the other!

And I really love the photos of me holding my great-nephew. ( thanks to my brother for getting me in front of the camera and snapping these pics for me!)  Time moves so fast, especially when you’re not able to see those in your life but every so often. Makes me think back to when Emily was a baby. She was just about this old ( 11 months ) when she joined our family.  And now look at her.  Seven-years-old and getting more grown-up by the day.  On the drive home from our visit she kept doing the math on how old she will be when Leo is one… and two… and three… and four-years-old, etc.   You know where this is going…. 😉
