OUR ANNUAL SUMMER FLING

The school year comes to an end and we are on a plane for some much needed R&R. Every time I think maybe we should mix it up a bit and skip the June Florida getaway for a new location, tradition even… I soon find myself feeling back at home with my feet in the sand in our old ( beloved) favorite place. Florida sunsets on the beach are magical. While it’s amazing to watch the sun go down and the golden glow light up the horizon, I find myself more often than not turning around to the sky behind me as it turns the most beautiful colors of blue and then slips into the most majestic purple hue.

We usually find time to take a day trip to a nearby location and this year it was Naples. A perfect place to find a lovely place for lunch and do a little shopping. I had no idea we would discover a store filled with Squishmallows, but my girl was thrilled and had the hardest time choosing just one. ( I think I would have picked out that darling snowman in the upper left! But I guess you’re not thinking snow and winter and Christmas during a blistering hot summer day!) Here’s the little squishy she choose. Had to pick a size that would fit in the carryon!!

One of my favorite photos to take ( and thank goodness she still lets me!)… is the annual beach photo of Emily. I love seeing how she’s grown.
