STAYING AT HOME

*** Update today, April 9th.  After what ended up to be several days off of stuffed animal photo taking, Emily decided today was the day to gather up 20 of her favorite stuffies and snap a pic. We made the 20 sign, put her favorite chair in the middle of her room and started looking for the animals. She wanted all of her kitties and dragons.  It was then that the real kitty decided it was nap time and SHE needed that favorite chair. So, change of plans! Here, on the 2oth day of the official “Stay at Home” order we have Emily and Daisy.  The cat might not be so keen on all of the extra human attention these days, but I know Emily sure loves dishing it out. : )

It’s Monday, March 30th and here we sit at home.  We are like countless of other families across the nation under a “Stay at Home” order issued by our Governor in reaction to the Coronavirus Pandemic.  We do get outside for a short while everyday by taking a walk along the bike path near our home, playing in the yard or making chalk drawings on the driveway.  But, as we all need to do, it’s time to stay inside and help stop the spread of this deadly disease.

With so much time inside we are trying our best to keep busy. Board games, crafts, origami and favorite tv shows have helped pass the time.  I think we have watched “Room on the Broom” about a thousand times!  For Emily, playing with her stuffed animals defiantly tops the list.  From veterinary clinic to book store and school, these furry friends always play the part.  So, when I decided to take one photo everyday during this “Stay at Home” time for us, it was not surprising that Emily wanted to put her animals in the photos. We’ve been adding one more animal each day.   This is day nine. I wonder how many more are ahead for us?
If you have any ideas on how to keep busy let us know!

Stay safe everyone.

* Governor Pritzker today ( March 31st) extended the “Stay at Home” order in Illinois until April 30th.
