ICE CASTLES

The beauty of winter was on full display as we walked through the Ice Castles in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. I’ve tried for the past couple of years to snag tickets for this popular event, but hadn’t had much luck. This year, I set an alarm on my phone to remind me to log on and try yet again. Success! I must say, it was like trying to buy tickets to a big concert as I watched the words “sold out” quickly appear across the block of dates. While we really wanted to get an evening slot to see the castles lit up in color, this daytime visit turned out to be perfect. The snowy skies made for a magical experience. Add in the controlled and light crowds, staying away from folks was quite easy. Plus, the face masks helped keep us warm 🙂
