I will say this about Emily: she knows what she wants and usually sticks to her plan. Just like in years past, Emily has known for quite some time what she wants to be for Halloween. This year, it’s all about unicorns. Probably because they are everywhere! There are unicorn stuffed animals ( I think she has five!) pencils, erasers, notebooks, reading books, bedding, lamps… even unicorn cookies at the grocery store. Unicorns are the thing right now.
And, if I do say so myself, my sweet Emily makes the most beautiful unicorn. There was one day this cold and rainy week that the skies cleared and the temperatures warmed up just enough to give her costume a trial run. And me a minute or two to grab a photo for her Halloween card! We went back to a favorite spot where I had taken Emily’s photo in her butterfly costume two years ago. I included photos at the end of this gallery; it’s so much fun to see how she’s grown in just two years. Plus, that butterfly costume has to be her most favorite of all… those wings!!! It was September when I took those photos, the middle of October brings a different look to the gardens, but just a beautiful. Emily was disappointed that the fountain wasn’t flowing but quickly forgot about that when she started collecting leaves. Lots of leaves. The photo of her fanning herself with that huge leaf cracks me up. I just may have to print that one! Or all of them….
Happy almost Halloween, I hope it’s magical!
